So my thoughts for today ran around if I should leave my children their goodnight songs that I would sing to them each night.  I hate to have them realize that my voice is so out of tune, but then again they had no idea when I sang to them each night.

Adam:  You are my Hon.on ey My Hon.on.ey.. Bun ..on..ney, and I will …lo…ve you…. for …..all…..ways repeat I talk about all the wonderful things that you did today and will do tomorrow.Phillip: You are my Bear…ry my bear…rry bear…ry and I will lo..ve ….you…for all…ways. repeat I talk about all the wonderful things that you did today and will do tomorrow

Rebecca:  You are my Princess. My princess on a po..ny and I will lov..oe you for al ways…So m0st of the time I would ask Rebecca what color she wanted her pony to be and her color choice was always pink or green ( with different colored mane) this got to be pretty elaborate. A true expression of the way she was. We also carried on the theme of the nice things she did today and how she could be a nicer person tomorrow.  Empathy, and understanding.  WTF was I thinking, perhaps if I didn’t teach her those, she would not be where she is today.

Yoga: today was an eyeopener, I have a long way to go in my practice.  I had fun, but came out beaten.

Walk: Warren called, and Duffy, Ella, Maguire and I went for a walk around PCC.  I could tell that Warren wanted  more of a walk for Duffy, but…I’m in charge and Maguire had just enough.

Jane, our next door neighbor came over tonight, as she wanted to see our festive indoor decorations before we take them down.

Got Rebecca’s boots from the Neitenbach’s.  She left them there before she came for Christmas. I text-ed Kim to thank her.

Well that’s all, I’m pretty emotionally spent.  Too many memories of good night songs…..I’m glad I can still have those.

Sunday is really the best day to sleep in, to catch up on your dreams and to focus calmly for the week ahead.  I find that there really is a lot to be thankful for, from something so routine as getting a glass of cold filtered water to the every morning little wet kisses from Ella, from catching a glimpse of a cardinal in the falling snow to hearing Maguire’s masculine bark echo in the woods.

Morning walk with Andrew, Maguire and Ella was around the man made lake at Pine Community Center.  Maguire loved it, the mostly downhill walk explodes with different animal scents.  It takes him about an hour to do just around a mile circle. I’m not in a hurry as Ella chases her toy and also gets distracted with the scents.  Unfortunately Andrew was not too happy.  He had a schedule, and a short distance dog walk that took far too long was not on it.  No problem, he doesn’t need to go next time.

Yoga: practice today was from 1-3, a beginners’ guide to positions and their novice to advanced variations.  I can say that I really mastered the ‘Downward Dog’ and Wheel, as for the Crow that’s another story.  I don’t imagine I will be able to really master that one for several months.  My balance is off, not enough weight in the head compared to the amount in the rear.

Mojo Run: Today was the first day of the C25K which culminates on March 2nd.  With snow falling, a group of us headed outside to be instructed how to run.  45 minutes of 1 minute runs 90 sec walks.  I came home tired, pleased with my ambition but nonetheless concerned that this really is going to kick me.  I believe my biggest challenge will be the little person on my shoulder talking into my ear….if I can not listen, then I’ll be good to go every Sunday 4-6, Wednesday 6:30-7:30, and Friday 12-1.  I am really the slowest runner there, not the most out of shape, just the slowest.  I should really re-read the story of the Tortoise and the Hare.

I really didn’t talk to anyone today, though I read some upsetting news on FB about USNA and the increased sexual harassment and assaults.  Nearly doubled in 2012, apparently there will be several changes in 2013.  I wonder if Rebecca would tell us, something tells me she wouldn’t.  I wonder where I went wrong. IWWIWW

Things I read today: 52 Paths for fitness.  A Year’s worth of small steps to a SVELTE YOU.

Music I listened to today: Blessed to be a Witness, Ben Harper, a selection from Neil Diamond best tracks- reminded me of my mom, this is her favorite artist and finally Blessed by a very young Elton John

Well that is all for today.  I need to figure out something for Andrew’s birthday on Friday.

A very busy and cold day started at 5:40am.  A quick walk with Ella our Kerry Blue Terrier and then back to the warm bed for some last few winks of sleep.  Someone has to keep the almost 15 year old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, aka Maguire, company.  He prefers his walk time to be in the light of late mornings.

Dentist appointment 9:30am: Dr. Antonio R. Charmaco is by far the best dentist that I have had in the last 20+ years.  I had two silver fillings removed and filled in less then 40 minutes. Fast, friendly, perfect color match and the best part, no pain.

On the way home I stopped by Pine Community Center and enrolled in a ‘Get Fit Your Weigh’ 10 week program that focuses on exercise and nutrition.  The program dates are January 21-March 31.  Top three highest % of weight loss receive prizes.  I would be happy just to look good in shorts this summer.

Dog walk today was around the blue loop through the woods and around the man made lake.  It happens to be Maguire’s favorite as there are so many different animal smells.  Today unfortunately was a little upsetting, as there was a fair amount of fresh blood marking the white soft snow.  No animal, just the in-nerds scattered in the nearby shrubs. Tire marks and several different footprints lead me to believe hunters. I thought hunting season was over. I think I watch too many crime shows.

Dorothy: I finally got to talk to my sister today.  Asked her the usual questions, and the ‘is Graham engaged yet’ question, is ‘Kathryne engaged?’ Nope not yet on both.

Mom: Is looking at getting another puppy once Sean, aka Seany boy, passes.  It could be a several years.  But she has already started looking at the Portuguese Water Dog.

Dad: Seems he spent the larger part of the day reading his emails and looking at our Christmas photos.  It takes quit a bit of time going through 207 photos.  This definitely was not my best group of photos.  Probably had something to do with red wine.

Saharia Spa:  Met Chris today from 2-4:45 for a hair color and cut.  She was a little shy with the color, and ran out of time to finish the cut, (yup 2:45 hours just isn’t long enough) so I will be back next Thursday.  Oh well, at least my hair doesn’t feel like it’s been over treated.

Mojos:  Stopped by and talked with Jenn, the owner of the running store on 228.  Yes I signed up for a ‘Couch to 5K’ program that starts this Sunday January 6, at 4:00 and culminates on March 2 at the Brave American 5K in Sewickley or March 9 at the March Mad Dash in Allison Park.  I’m not too sure if this is the environment for me, but hey, might as well try and shake some weight off.  I used to like running, being outside, free.  Maybe I’ll like it again.

Rebecca: got a imessage from her that she landed and is in Richmond Virgina.  They play the Spiders tomorrow night at 7pm.  I checked the navysports.com website and guess what I found,…. Becca is the cover photo for the game this Friday.  Richmond in Richmond.  Nice.

Phillip: Haven’t heard from him, but I did see that he read my post last night and gave me a little comment.  Thanks, Phillip

Adam: Star Wars marathon is not permitted to be interrupted.  It brought back such fond memories when I saw him playing and organizing his Star Wars collection.  Got some great pics that I’ll post later.

Andrew: He is in the living room, I’m in the kitchen and he Skypes me.  Go figure.

Well that’s all for now, it’s been a busy day and I need to get ready for tomorrow’s events.

New Year Diary 2013

Jan. 3

Yoga: Signed up for personal instructions on this coming Sunday at SaltPowerYoga from 1-3….No sense in teaching myself when personal instructions are available…who knows…perhaps this will be the start of a new practice.

Post Office: Mailed out a parcel to Rebecca…Deodorant, waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, lotion and teeth whitener from Ds. Watler Davis …I also sent her a little note from me.  I am so worried about her.

Doggie Walk: Called Warren just after lunch as the sun decided to grace in between flurries.  Ella, Duffy and Maguire played in the snow.  Ella was teaching Duffy, a 16 month old Wheaten Terrier that she doesn’t like to be jumped on while chasing down a toy, meanwhile Maguire saw an opportunity to run across the field, (bee line it to the car) as fast as his body would allow, which sent me chasing him down. How funny it is that an almost 15 year old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has so much get up and go!  Must be all the raw/veggie/treats he consumes.  We walked today at the  Treesdale Commons loop.

Called Adam today: his plans seem to be coming into place for May.   Looks like May 20th is his day to depart to Midland.

Called Phillip today: so sorry for him, as I had such a hard time logging in on WordPress.  Who would have thought that I needed to download FireFox?  Oh lesson learned.

Well that’s all I have for today. Here is to tomorrow!!! L, M
